The cyclist seriously injured in this morning's crash in Hafodyrynys has died.
The cyclist, a 60 year old man from the Markham area, was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Two cars were involved in the collision and the driver of one of the cars, a 51-year-old man from the Porth area, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is in police custody.
Gwent Police ask that anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and can help police with their enquiries to call on 101 quoting log number 46 12/08/13.

A male cyclist is seriously injured and has been taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital after this morning's crash.
Two other cars are involved and a one of the drivers, a man has been arrested.
The A472 is closed between the A467 and the junction with the A4043 to Pontypool.
A diversion is in place.

A BUSY Valleys road is partially closed this morning after a crash involving a cyclist.
The A472 has been closed this morning at Hafodrynys Hill, Hafodrynys, following the incident.
Police said the incident took place at around 7.20am this morning and involved a cyclist.
The incident has led to heavy traffic in both directions between the junction for Crumlin Road and Crumlin Traffic Lights.
