A series of deliberate fires were started overnight in Gwent last night.
South Wales Fire and Rescue received a call at 9.26pm about a grass fire on the British Mountain, Abersychan. The town’s fire crew brought the blaze under control at 9.51pm.
A further call was received a 10.13pm about a fire in Coed Eva, Cwmbran. Arsonists destroyed a hedge and a wooden fence, as well as damaging a conservatory roof.
In Chepstow, a car and a trailer were set on fire in the Bulward area. A crew from Chepstow came to the scene after a call at 2.58am, bringing the fire under control at 3.21am.
A crew from Caerphilly also received reports of a garage fire on William Street, Abertridwr , at 4.49am but this turned out to be just rubbish on fire and was under control just after 5am.
