THE wife of the cyclist who died after a crash in Hafodyrynys on Monday says she “cannot imagine how I will face my life without him”, that her family “is lost without him”.
Paul Jones, 60, was in an accident involving two cars on the A472 Hafodyrynys Road. He leaves behind a wife Angela, son Paul and grandsons Joshua and Samuel.
His wife, Angela paid tribute to her husband, who loved cycling and keeping fit, saying: “He was not your average 60-year-old. He was super fit and looked many years younger than his actual age.
She described him as “an amazing father and grandfather who took pleasure in spending time with them.
“Paul was someone who was “always on the go” – he didn’t stop working, even when he was home.
She added the man who was originally from the Cwmbran area, but moved to Markham around 17 years ago.
Paul’s son, also called Paul talked of how the man fondly known as “the robot” due to his “endless love of working” was tragically taken from them years before his time. He added: “Words cannot describe the heartache, but it can be replaced in everlasting memory with the joy and never ending selflessness which he brought to all he knew and loved.
His father is “forever in our thoughts and hearts”.
