Newport County AFC are delighted to announce that the South Wales Argus is now the Club’s Official Media partner.
The Argus, Newport’s daily newspaper for more than 120 years, has had a close relationship with the Club over a long period of time and it’s fitting that it should be cemented by it becoming a partner.
Kevin Ward, Editor of the South Wales Argus: “I am delighted the Argus is the official media partner for Newport County AFC’s first season back in the Football League.
“The Argus has covered County throughout the club’s history and we have been there for the entire 25 years of non-league exile, from Moreton-in-Marsh to Rodney Parade.
“Very often during those years the Argus represented the only media interested in covering the club.
“As a County fan myself since the days of Tommy Tynan and John Aldridge, I know what this football club means to Newport and the play-off final at Wembley last May is a day I will never forget.
“The Argus has always had a close commercial relationship with the club and I am pleased we have been able to extend this further for this very exciting season.”
County Chief Executive, Dave Boddy added “Although I’ve only been at the Club a relatively short period of time, it’s very obvious to me that the close relationship between County and the Argus is vital to both parties. Kevin and his team have been very supportive of the Club and were pleased to put it on a formal and recognised basis”
