NEWPORT council has adopted a staff travel plan aimed at reducing individual car use.

The document gives employees travel options in a bid to stimulate change in behaviour towards more sustainable and healthy travel options.

This includes cycling, walking and using public transport and information on the routes available will be given to colleagues.

The plan was developed in consultation with the South East Wales Travel Alliance (SEWTA), a consortium of 10 local authorities which prepares and co-ordinates regional transport policies, plans and programmes on behalf of its constituent councils.
