A CWMBRAN band is becoming more popular on the pub scene after its guitarist has received more than ten million youtube hits.
Online Gutair tutor Alan Robinson ,of Cwmbran, has formed new band Gas Trick Band after his online tutorial received more than ten million views online.
Mr Robinson 48, whose son Gwent music teacher, Jason Robinson, also features in the band, began posting guitar tutorials online in October 2010 and has gained 50,000 subscribers from all over the world.
With his most popular video to date is a tutorial for the song Hallelujah, which has had over 800,000 hits.
Now the self -taught guitarist and martial arts instructor has decided to join forces with his son Jason, and friends Chris Giles, 30, of Newport, on drums, and Phillip Davies, 30 of Newport, on bass.
The band which plays music ranging from the sixties to modern day classics formed last December.
Jason Robinson said: “I have been in various bands for ages but leapt at the chance to do something with my dad.
“The whole experience has been brilliant, so we are just trying to do more gigs around the Gwent area.
“What makes us different is that we do songs that other bands don’t normally cover.”
The bands next gig is at the Handpost Newport on Saturday September 7 at 9pm.
