Did you grow up loving or loathing a liberty bodice?
A special exhibition about the children’s undergarment is currently at Chepstow Museum.
Organisers described the flleecy bodice as "a thing of nostalgia for many thousands of people who grew up with it as part of their childhood.”
With its rubber buttons and cotton tapes it gave children more freedom to move around than previous undergarments.
The exhibition tells the story of R. & W.H. Symington & Co. Ltd, the corsetry manufacturer who developed the bodice, and looks at the way childhood changed at the beginning of the 20th century.
The bodice was first made in 1908 and continued to be produced until the 1960s.
The exhibition will run until October 6 at the museum in Bridge Street, Chepstow. It is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am until 5.30pm and from 2pm until 5.30pm on Sundays.
