THE clock is ticking until the start of Chepstow's Castell Roc festival.

Organisers are reporting tickets to events are approaching sell out in many cases and a number of events have been given a boost with the announcement of additions to the line-up.

The eight day entertainment bonanza gets underway with “GR8 Music – Live!” featuring performances from Static Signals, The Anthill Mob, Siôn Russell Jones, 4th Street Traffic plus supports on Saturday.

The Jive Aces will now be supported by Toni Elizabeth Prima, the daughter of Grammy award winners Louis Prima and Keely Smith and Rebecca Grant, a singer and actress known for her role as Daisha Anderson on Holby City.

The Rat Pack Event has confirmed ex-Eastenders star Des Coleman will be performing as Sammy Davis Jnr.

A Clash Of Tales' Classic Evening is based on “Pwyll of Dyfed” who has a strange tale to tell, of a year and a day of his young life.

The performance will include live music by Rusty Shackle.

The Contemporary Evening is based on “Culhwch and Olwen” which dates back to the 14th century or earlier. This tale will be told anew for an audience of today, of love and obstacles but mostly of proving that it is possible to take on the impossible (including live music from One Sick Lizard).

Both shows will include a spectacular display firework finale.

Comedian and singer Max Boyce will also be performing supporting and raising money for Chepstow Rugby Club Mini’s.

“We are all aware of Max’s love of all things rugby and are over the moon that Max has offered us the opportunity to collect for a local club, especially when it’s for children and youth development,” said a Castell Roc spokesman.

All other events will be supporting and raising money for Help For Heroes.

“The town has a long established link with the Military and we as event organisers are very proud to be supporting this extremely worthy cause,” the spokesman added.

With good weather forecast, organisers are encouraging people to book in advance by calling 01291 627122.

All events are unseated except Max Boyce for which people can bring a chair or blanket.

There will be a fully licensed bar on-site (excluding ‘The Rat Pack’ which is a ‘prohibition themed night’) and food will be sold.
