RESIDENTS of Blaenau Gwent will be able to visit the brand new state-of-the-art Ebbw Vale sports complex two days before the doors are officially opened.
On Saturday August 31 and Sunday September 1 guests will be able to take part in a special preview weekend to see what’s inside the new Ebbw Vale Sports Centre.
The preview weekend is free and open between 11am and 3pm on both days. Members of the public can turn up on the day and park in the multi-storey car-park to see the new facilities.
It has taken around 18 months to build the new Ebbw Vale Sports Centre. The facilities include a 3rd Generation (3G) artificial playing surface, a 3G multi-use playing area, eight badminton court sports hall, 65 station fitness suite, health suite with spa steam and sauna, cafe, two water flumes and much more.
Neal Stephens, managing director for contractors Willmott Dixon, said: "We are pleased to have been a part of this project that provides outstanding facilities for the people in Ebbw Vale to enjoy.
“The project was a great success and completion was achieved on time in 18 months. We are looking forward to seeing the new state-of-the-art sports centre being put to good use and providing the members of the town a great space for all their sporting and community needs."
Today [Thursday August 22 2013[, will be the final day at the current Ebbw Vale sports complex adjacent to the Civic centre will be open.
