A body was found in a Newport house this morning.
A scientific investigations van, unmarked police car and ambulance vehicle arrived at the property in Llanthewy road this morning blocking off the alleyway between Llanthewy road and Bolton road.
Four police officers could be seen wearing latex gloves and protective face masks in the alleyway outside the property's back entrance.
Daniel Kerr, 41, of the adjoining property said it had been about two weeks since he last saw his neighbour. Mr Kerr said: "We only ever saw him to say hello as we were coming in or out."
His neighbour believed the man lived alone.
A spokesperson from Gwent Police said: "We attended the address in Llanthewy road and discovered that a man was deceased. There are no suspicious circumstances."
