A CAERLEON fundraiser jumped at the challenge to take part in a bungee jump for St David’s Hospice.

Jason Pritchard, 33, jumped off a crane in Chepstow on August 17 and raised more than £180 for a hospice in the area.

Mr Prichard was raised to 300 feet crane over a 100ft quarry and jumped from the crane towards the water at Chepstow National Diving and Activity Centre.

St David’s Hospice Care provides care to people living within Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen and within certain areas of South and Mid Powys.

At any one time the charity looks after more than 1,100 patients and during 2012 it cared for 3,204 patients and their families.

The Group Marketing Manager at Wessex Garages at Newport Retail said: “The hospice is our dealership’s Charity of the Year and I thought it would be a great idea to take part in the bungee jump in aid of the organisation.

“This was my first bungee jump and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

“I am delighted that so far I have raised £186 for St David’s Hospice Care.

“I am still collecting money for the charity so please visit my Just Giving page if you would like to donate, www.justgiving.com/jpnewport, or pop in to see me at Wessex Garages at Newport Retail Park.”
