The Wales Gurkha Community is holding its first open day at the Territorial Army Centre in Cwmbran today.
President of the Wales Gurkha Community Narendra Limbu said, 'We are inviting everyone to come and enjoy this free event and see Gurkha folk dances, including dances with our famous Army Khukri knives.
"There will also be demonstrations of Gurkha life and performances by a retired Gurkha bagpiper.
"There will be lots of activities for children too. We are looking forward very much to sharing our culture with you, please come and join us for a spectacular afternoon of free entertainment."
The Gurkhas will be at the centre between 2pm and 6pm and the event is free to attend.
Organisers say it will go ahead whatever the weather.
