TWO tourists had to be guided off the Gwent side of a mountain after getting lost at the weekend.

The men from Leicester, aged 39 and 68, were walking on the Black Mountains on Saturday evening when one of them contacted police at 7pm to say they required assistance.

Located by the South and East Wales police helicopter close to the Abergavenny border with Crickhowell, the pair were guided down with directions by telephone.

Gwent Police Inspector Huw Jones said: "Officers met them at the bottom and they went safely home to an address in Leicester."
