GWENT students could have the chance to further their understanding and knowledge of the Holocaust with a Lessons from Auschwitz (LFA)project.
The Holocaust Educational Trust has released its 2013 autumn schedule for the project which offers two post-16 students from every school and college in the country the opportunity to learn more about the Holocaust.
The four-part course, which was established in 1999, includes a one-day visit to the Nazi concentration and death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.
This gives participants the chance to see firsthand the site where more than a million people were murdered by the Nazis.
The Holocaust Educational Trust will run six courses from October to November 2013.
Karen Pollock MBE, chief executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust said: “For many schools, the Lessons from Auschwitz project has become a hugely important part of the curriculum, not just for the participants themselves, but because they subsequently pass on this profoundly transformative experience to their peers.
"It is through these young people that we will ensure that the Holocaust is never forgotten.”
