FIVE men will appear before Cwmbran Magistrates Court this morning to face charges after the armed drugs drama centred on Bank Street in the St Julians area of Newport on Monday.
A 20-year-old man from Cardiff has been charged with dangerous driving, possession with intent to supply and affray; a 26-year-old man from Cardiff has been charged with possession with intent to supply and affray; a 20-year-old man from Cardiff has been charged with possession with intent to supply and affray; a 27-year-old man from Bristol has been charged with possession with intent to supply and affray and a 27-year-old man from Bristol has been charged with possession with intent to supply, dangerous driving and affray.
The 37-year-old man taken to hospital following the incident remains in the University of Wales Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
A 47-year-old arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving has been bailed pending further enquiries.
