THE first-ever Bedwellty House and Park Show is taking place on Saturday August 31 from 12 noon until 4pm.
The show will feature competitions, including a vegetable section, a novelty class (heaviest marrow, heaviest pumpkin and longest bean), separate fruit and flower categories plus baking, handicrafts and a competition for youngsters decorating cupcakes, making pizza and crafts.
Bedwellty House and Park Head Gardener Jon Munn, said: “This is our first-ever show so we are really excited about this weekend. I think competition is going to be quite fierce, especially in one of the categories called `Disaster Zone’.
Cllr Anita Hobbs, executive member for social services, children, and active living, said: “This is the first-ever show at Bedwellty House and Park so I really hope people come along and enjoy not just the house and gardens but also the amazing fruit, vegetables and craft entries in the competition. I hope lots of people have a go and take part this weekend.”
