SOME leaseholders in Torfaen may be able to qualify for a free replacement gas boiler as part of a Government scheme.
Bron Afon Community Housing and Warm Wales Cymru Gynnes are working together to provide gas boilers for some of Bron Afon’s leaseholders, who have difficulty heating their homes.
Leasehold manager at Bron Afon, Julianne Bonner, said: “The Government estimates that a new energy-efficient boiler could save between £190 and £240 a year on average household heating bills.
“Given the savings that can be made, we are keen to encourage as many of our leaseholders as possible to check if they qualify for a new boiler. They could see a real difference to their heating bills.”
To qualify for the scheme leaseholders need to be receiving a key benefit, which can include pension credit, tax credits or income-related benefits.
The full list of qualifying benefits is available at www.warmwales.org.uk or you can call 01639 825964 with details of your boiler make and model to find out if you qualify.
