The A449 has now re-opened following this morning's crash. Gwent Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact by ringing 101 quoting log 76 05/09/13.

One person was removed from their car by firefighters and taken to hospital with neck and back pain after four cars crashed into one another in the rush hour this morning.
The crash, at around 8.45 this morning, slowed down traffic between J24 and 25 of the M4 and caused two lanes to be closed on the A449 southbound.
Two fire crews from Malpas and one from Maindee attended the accident as well as police and the ambulance service.
UPDATE: 9.00am
TWO lanes are closed and slow traffic is reported this morning due to a crash involving a car and a lorry on the A449 southbound at the Coldra in Newport.
Emergency services are in attendance at the scene on the A449 side of the Coldra Roundabout
