RETURNING to Wales Millennium Centre for its second year between now and November is Graduate 2013 which will display some of the finest work to come out of arts institutions across Wales over the last year.

Commissioned by Wales Millennium Centre and curated by renowned Welsh artist Pete Fowler, the exhibition will showcase the talent and creativity of 33 recent graduates from Welsh arts institutions.

Cardiff-born curator Pete Fowler attended Howard Gardens to undertake an art foundation before going on to Falmouth School of Art to study on theBA Fine Arts course.

Speaking about selecting the works for the exhibition during his visits to the institutions, he said: “The level of thought, process and practice shown in the various exhibits was at times both overwhelming and inspiring, and the selections that I have made display a very wide range of mediums, thought and ideas that demonstrate the varied state of graduate work in Wales in 2013.”

“I believe the support of the creative arts in Wales to be a very important and sometimes overlooked factor in raising awareness of the strength, depth and richness of the arts and creative industries that Wales has to offer.

“I hope, with the pieces of work I’ve curated, visitors to Graduate 2013 can get a real sense of the strength and variety of the creative minds that have been nurtured by the establishments in Wales.”
