THE sight of a limousine hanging off George Street Bridge shocked motorists and pedestrians in Newport this afternoon.
One eyewitness, who was walking over the bridge, described the silver vehicle “precariously positioned”, half-on, half-off the structure and dangling down towards the river Usk.
However, after getting nearer, the eyewitness found that instead of rescue crews, there were television crews milling around and no apparent urgency to pull the vehicle to safety.
Gwent Police confirmed that part of the bridge had been closed off to allow the BBC to film an episode of Casualty.
