A MASCARA thief who failed to complete a 100-hour community order after becoming homelessness has been fined.
Ian Arnold, 29, of Central Drive, Trevethin, was given 100 hours unpaid work for stealing the cosmetic at a Poundstretcher store on February 6, a court heard.
He became homeless after his mum decided not to put him up when he was sentenced in April, Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court heard.
The father stayed three weeks at his grandmother’s but she passed away and he then spent time sleeping on friends’ sofas, the court was told.
Arnold then failed to carry out any unpaid work as he did not receive letters sent by the Probation Service, the court heard.
He admitted failing to comply with the requirements of his 12-month community order yesterday [September 11].
He told the court: “I won’t make my life a mess like that again.
“I know I shouldn’t have done it in the first place.”
JP Sarah Byford said she was giving him “one last chance” by allowing him to complete the community order and fined him £75.
