A BEAUTICIAN s getting involved in Macmillians World’s Biggest Coffee Morning this month.
Diamond Beauty, in Brynmawr, is getting in the spirit of World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on September 27, in memory of owner Sharon John-Assirati’s mother in law Susan Assirati.
Mrs John–Assirati, a mother of one from Brynmawr, and Lisa Curtis, 31 from Nantyglo, have signed up to hold their own coffee morning in Sharon’s beauty salon on to raise money for the cancer charity that helped Mrs Assirati for eight years of her illness.
Mrs John-Assirati, lost her mother in law, Susan Assirati, after a long battle with cancer and wanted to do something to held the charity which looked after her mother in law for eight years.
She said: “Lisa and I wanted to hold our own world’s Biggest Coffee Morning in memory of my mother in law Susan.
“Macmillan helped her medically and financially and this is now my way of giving back to them.
“We also wanted to give back to our communities, knowing that all money raised within Gwent will be spent in Gwent.
“We are holding our coffee morning on September 27 between 9am and 12pm and would love for locals to call in and have a cuppa with us.”
Macmillan Fundraising Manager, Julia Shaw said: “I’m very grateful to Sharon and Lisa for holding a coffee morning for Macmillan.
“Every single penny counts in making the difference between a good day and a bad day for someone fighting against cancer, holding your own coffee morning is a piece of cake and will make a real difference”.
