A NEWPORT artist is travelling from London to Newport in search of his long lost teddy.
Dino Rovaretti, 22, of Falmouth Univeristy, is on a quest to find the teddy he lost as a child as part of a performing arts project.
Mr Rovaretti, of Bettws, has started filming his performing arts piece around Newport which features him asking member for the public for suggestions on how to find the teddy he lost aged eight.
The project called ‘Missing Bear’ shows the artist interacting with the public in his quest to find the bear he lost at The Great Ormond Street Hospital in London 14 years ago.
Mr Rovaretti said: “People can get involved in my search in certain ways such as giving me instructions when I ask them how I can find him.
“One scene shows me at the Newport bus station telling my story and someone telling me to look under bridges.
“So I filmed myself looking under all the bridges in Newport and London.
”The idea of the project is to experiment with how people look for things and connect a lost object and a lost self.”
The white teddy, which was wearing yellow dungarees, was called ‘Superted’, and was lost while Mr Rosavetti was in hospital recovering from multiple bladder operations.
He added: “Although the project is part of a wider scheme of things, there is a small part of me that wants to find him.”
