ONE of the UK’s leading firms dealing with environmental issues has opened a new branch office in Monmouth.

Enzygo, which covers waste planning, permitting, flood risk, renewables, noise, ecology, geotechnical and contaminated land, has an annual turnover of more than £1.5 million.

The company was responsible for obtaining a bat licence that allowed Monmouthshire council to carry out routine maintenance work on the historic Monnow Bridge in Monmouth.

It worked closely with the contractors to ensure the roost was not disturbed while the project was carried out.

The new office will be headed up by Chris Formaggia, Enzygo’s director of ecology, and will serve an already sizeable list of Welsh-based clients.
