NEWPORT'S Celtic Manor changed a job advert after people were asked to send applications to an Usk Valley address, with no mention of the resort’s home city.
People applying for a job as chef de rang/team leader might have been confused when they were asked to write to The Celtic Manor Resort at Coldra Woods, The Usk Valley, South Wales.
The omission of Newport from the address was noted on Twitter. ‘Save Newport Art’ tweeted: “Terry Matthews and his "Usk Valley". When are Celtic Manor going to take that off their postal address and put Newport instead?”
With its NP18 1HQ postcode situated just before the Coldra roundabout, the resort is within Newport even if the success of the five star resort might seem distant from the city’s current economic problems.
Other tweeters pointed out that the Celtic Manor did include Newport on its ‘Contact Us’ page.
The mystery was solved when PR Manager at the Celtic Manor Resort, Paul Williams said the wrong address was used on the job advert, from an old template which indeed left off Newport.
Mr Williams said: “I've just spoken to our HR department and they were using an old template for this job vacancy.
“They will now ensure this is not repeated and revert to the same address as on our home page and contact us page of the website which includes Newport.”
