TREDEGAR House is looking for children who are up for a challenge this autumn.
As part of its Junior Rangers Club, Tredegar House is looking for kids who can complete 50 things before they turn 11 ¾.
The challenge focuses on building up childhood experiences though outdoor activities such as building a den, rolling down a hill, hunting bugs and pond dipping, which form an essential part of growing up.
The challenge follows a National Trust survey which showed that children in particular are spending 60 percent less time outdoors than their parents did at the same age.
Every day during the summer holiday’s children joined Tredegar House in the park to gain a sticker and complete one of the 50 things to do before you're 11¾ and now the adventure has been extended until November 30.
Children gathered at the house last weekend to take up the challenge which included activities broken into categories including Adventurer, Discoverer, Ranger, Taker and Explorer.
The Junior Rangers Club will run every other week until November 30.
The fun can also continue at home by visiting the website www.nationaltrust.org.uk/50things where children can fill in their completed activities and earn points towards their very own explorer badge.
For more information or to take up the challenge call Tredegar House Office, on 01633 815880.
