A NEWPORT family that expands six generations is reaping the benefits of its size with a thriving family business.
The six-generation family recently decided to open a tearoom called Seawall Tearooms located in a spare bedroom of their house along the coastal path near the sea wall at Goldcliff, Newport, after they decided walkers were in need of refreshment.
The family which includes great grandmother Gladys Sweeting, 93, grandmother Wendy Mumford, 56, mum Pamela Jackson,76, daughter Lisa Rogers, 38, granddaughter Jessica Law, 21, and grandson Harry Law, two.
The whole family live in Newport apart from Mrs Sweeting and Mrs Jackson of Cwmbran. Mrs Mumford said: “We are the only six generation family in Great Britain and we were going to be in the book of world records but apparently there is also a six generation family in America so we couldn’t.
“Being such a large family is something that we are proud of and it pays off because we are all able to work in the shop together.”
