RSPCA Newport animal centre is appealing for a home for a diabetic corgi.
Due to his condition Rusty, a nine-year-old corgi, has to be injected twice a day and has to be given special food for the rest of his life. He also suffers with arthritis and needs anti-inflammatory medicine for his joints.
Rusty suffers with weight problems and is in need of an owner who is willing to encourage him to take some gentle exercise every day to keep his weight under control. The corgi is a lovely character who will often talk to demand food, and greet people with a little wiggle dance.
Debbie Caffull, centre manager, said: “Rusty has a lot of problems and it will take a very special person to take him on, but he is a real character with lots of love to give. We really hope someone will recognise Rusty for the wonderful companion he could be and give this boy a happy life.”
Contact the centre on 0300 123 0744 or visit www.rspca.org.uk/local/newport-animal-centre/
The centre is open 11.30am-4pm every day, except Thursdays.
