TV presenter Alex Jones is hoping for a warm Welsh welcome in Abergavenny on Wednesday night when she arrives in the town riding a rickshaw as part of a BBC Children in Need challenge.

The One Show host will pass through Monmouthshire with fellow presenter Matt Baker as they pedal 700 miles across the UK.

The third Rickshaw Challenge will see Miss Jones pedal around the clock for eight days, visiting all four nations of the UK to raise cash for disadvantaged children. They will arrive in Abergavenny at 7pm on Wednesday.

‘Team Rickshaw’ , which left Giants Causeway on November 8, is made up of five young people, each supported by projects funded by BBC Children in Need, who’ll be riding with partners including The One Show’s Alex Jones. Rickshaw veteran Matt Baker will also be riding alongside to support the team, acting as a mentor. e, after riding from Birmingham, before finishing at BBC’s Elstree Studio’s live on the BBC Children in Need Appeal Night on November 15.

The charity ride will enter Abergavenny from the A40 on Brecon Road and turn into King Street, opposite Fairfield Car Park and make its way along Lion Street and into Market Street where there will be a live broadcast from the Brewery Yard.

The Gates to the Brewery Yard open from 6pm and The One Show broadcasts live at 7pm.
