A CALENDAR launched by Keep Wales Tidy features a prize-winning photograph by a Newport student.
Natasha Ford studies Photography for Fashion and Advertising at the University of South Wales and she submitted a shot taken at Newport Wetlands as part of a competition run by the charity which closed in July.
The calendar has been launched to celebrate Keep Wales Tidy’s 40th anniversary.
Natasha said: “My photograph represents Wales because it shows a conservation area in an otherwise built up city. I think it's one of the only places around Newport where you can get away from the city and it's full of wildlife to see. The views from the Wetlands are interesting, especially when viewed through a telephoto lens.
"I am a student studying fashion photography, so working in a big creative team and with models is where I thrive best. I prefer to shoot on location as opposed to in the studio as the location can tell over half of the story. Studying in Wales is perfect for this as the landscapes are so varied and beautiful."
Dr Paul Cabuts, the academic subject leader for Photography at the University of South Wales in Caerleon was one of a panel of four photographers who judged which shots of Wales would be included in the calendar.
He said: “The standard of work was really high. We were blown away by it, actually.”
He has work currently exhibited in Milan, the Australian Centre for Photography in Paddington, New South Wales and in Stuttgart.
