WE HOPE that the family of Kyle Vaughan can take some small crumb of comfort from the efforts police are putting into their major search over the next few days.
Of course they will not be able to rest until they know what has happened to their son, who went missing nearly a year ago.
But this latest concerted search may at the very least uncover the clues needed to discover what happened.
The pictures of the police and their highly-trained sniffer dogs scouring the forests in the area where it is thought 24-year-old Kyle went missing, show just how thorough that undertaking is.
And we know that Gwent Police are as committed as anyone to bringing to an end the family's painful wait.
They say that the two-week search is intelligence led and part of the continuing case.
The family has worked so hard themselves over the past 11 months to keep their son's disappearance at the forefront of people's minds.
Gwent Police are to be commended for launching this concentrated push once again to try to find Mr Vaughan.
And once again we appeal to anyone who may have even the smallest piece of information to please, please pass it on to the police.
This family have spent the past 11 months in the most awful limbo.
They deserve at the very least to know what happened.
