Second person dies after Ponthir crash
A MAN injured in a crash in Ponthir on Wednesday 13th has died.
Named locally as the husband of the woman who died after the crash in the village, Den and Joyce Drew were both 86. Joyce died soon after the accident which happened close to the village hall on the B4236 Caerleon Road at around 7.30pm.
A 20-year-old female from the Ponthir area was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and has been released on police bail.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Gwent Police on 101 quoting log 411 13/11/13.
