A PONTYPOOL family will take to the catwalk this Sunday at Abergavenny’s Market Hall to star in the Vintage Vision winter fair.
Parents Hayley Pierce and Chris Silvester, from Sebastopol, and their children, Harrison Pierce, 10, Isaac Silvester, eight, Madison Pierce, eight, and Aggie Silvester, four, will model some key vintage trends.
Vintage Vision’s seventh fair promises to be their biggest and best yet. Organisers are hoping to beat previous attendance figures of 2,500. Visitors can browse more than 30 stalls. selling clothing, accessories, home-ware and Christmas gift ideas. A pop-up vintage café will be selling tea and homemade cakes, with music and dancing demonstrations. throughout the day.
A ‘Children’s Corner’ will have a dressing-up box for younger childrenand provide opportunities for craft activities. such as making Christmas decorations from fabric pieces.
Students from Coleg Gwent’s Cross Keys campus, led by their tutors, will be doing vintage make-up demos and hair will be by local stylist Deb on Hair. A photo booth, for a small fee, will offer visitors the chance to capture the style of a different era with clothes and props.
“Our previous fayres have attracted more than 2,500 visitors,” said Amanda Peters, Chairwoman and trustee of Vintage Vision, a social enterprise. “Going vintage is definitely trend-setting and although the build-up to Christmas is always busy with lots of different events going on, we are still hoping to get a record number,” The free event takes place between 10am and 4pm.and admission is free. Vintage Vision have shops in Abergavenny, Blaenavon and Chepstow. and run sewing workshops, talks and classes on textile recycling and restyling
