A NEWPORT teacher has been found guilty of professional misconduct by the General Teaching Council for Wales.
Claire Horton, 33, allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old pupil who had just left her school.
She has been struck off the teaching register for at least two years.
She acknowledged she had been unprofessional and committed "the ultimate sin" but denied having sex with the teenager.
The hearing heard the teacher and pupil contacted each other through Facebook weeks after he left the school.
And she said she picked the pupil up, took him to her house where they talked and went to sleep.
Then she said she had told her employers what had happened.
Ms Horton's marriage was breaking up at the time, the hearing heard.
The Crown Prosecution Service decided Ms Horton, who had been a teacher at the school for ten years, would not face any charges.
