A MAN will face no further action over what was a suspected murder of a Chepstow woman, whose body was found in the back of a car.

Leonie Kate Roberts, 28, was discovered in a Ford Mondeo parked in a layby close to West Wayland Caravan Park, Cornwall, on June 28.

At the time, a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and released on bail pending further enquiries.

But a spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said this week: “He has been released without any further action at this time in connection with the death of Leonie Roberts but there are some enquiries which are still ongoing.”

Officers are still treating the death as unexplained, he added.

Ms Roberts was laid to rest on October 18 at Usk Castle Chase Natural Burial Ground.

Her family wrote in a notice that she died peacefully but suddenly at the age of 28.

It added that she: “Will be greatly missed by her mother Hillary and brothers Gareth, Photis and Eddie and their families. Also sadly missed by her grieving gran, aunts, uncles and cousins.”

The family requested donations in lieu of flowers payable to The Samaritans sent c/o Tovey Bros, 9/11 Cardiff Road, Newport.

A spokeswoman for the Cornwall coroner said a date has not been set for Ms Roberts’ inquest, which has been opened and adjourned. Until then no more details about how the young woman died will be released, she added.
