FOLLOWING the success of a fundraising album released to raise money for the victims of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan, a Newport musician is hoping to hit a high note again for those affected by the Philippines typhoon.
David Barclay, from Malpas, has mastered a collection of songs together from various musicians on music sharing site SoundCloud to make an album, A Musical Gift of Hope.
The 42-year-old Malpas resident also has a single of his own on the site, called Detached.
Mr Barclay, who sings and plays the piano and guitar, previously released the Gakki for Kids album after being contacted by a Japanese woman living in a region affected by the 2011 earthquake disaster.
He said he had been compelled to a similar deed, to aid the appeal to help the Philippines.
“We had an outstanding response from so many kind and generous musicians and I had the difficult job of choosing only a selection of tracks to include on this charity album,” he said.
“Thank you so much my musician friends, we are so humbled to be able to help through your music, a gift to people in need.”
The album can be bought for £3 at http://barclaybunch.bandcamp.com/album/a-musical-gift-of-hope-philippines-disaster
