NEWPORT’S Kingsway centre will kick off its festive fun this weekend with the opening of Santa’s Grotto.
On November 23 the Mayor of Newport Cliff Suller will be at the Kingsway centre to open the doors to the grotto run by St David’s Hospice care.
The event will feature entertainment will be provided by a Victorian Gentleman Juggler who will also be on hand to get the festivities into full swing.
The visit to Santa’s grotto (including a gift) costs £4 and for an extra £2 your child can also have a picture taken with Santa with all proceeds going directly to St David’s.
In the lead up to Christmas, Kingsway Centre will also hold a series of free family events on Saturdays.
On November 30 Frosty the Snowman will entertain shoppers spreading the Christmas cheer while on December 7 Sigmund the singing reindeer will appear.
Santa’s Juggling Elves will also be on hand to entertain on December 14 and finally just before the big day, a Christmas Balloon Workshop will be held on December 21 where children can get creative Christmas-style and make a unique gift for someone special.
All events will take place in the centre between 11am and 4pm.
