A MOUNMOUTH pupil has won an award for young writers.
Molly-Anne Clibbett, who attends Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls, was among 500 young people to enter a writers’ competition, launched by Education Umbrella and Oxford University Press in April.
Entrants were asked to create a short story entitled ‘The Future’. Her entry, described by Head of English, Mrs Zoe Harvey, as ‘a brilliant read’, was scrutinised by author Gillian Cross and her team and judged to be the overall winner.
Molly-Anne will receive a signed copy of Gillian Cross' novel After Tomorrow and a voucher to spend on the Education Umbrella website. Her story will also be published on the EU site in Techbook format, and Molly-Anne is thrilled to have become a published author.
