TORFAEN trading standards service has warned residents of counterfeit chainsaws being sold door to door.
The chainsaws, which have serious safety flaws, were among 50 electrical power tools seized by the service and Gwent Police in a joint operation.
They were taken from an itinerant trader who was selling chainsaws, petrol generators, angle grinders, power washers and fake iPhones.
The chainsaws are poorly built and have major safety failings.
And the suspected fake iPhones' chargers could cause electrical shocks and pose a fire risk.
Councillor Gwyneria Clark, executive member for planning and public protection, said: “Anyone who has bought these items may well be exposing themselves and others to serious injury. If you have purchased any of these items or have any concerns, please contact your local trading standards service immediately.”
