DO YOU know a local community group or charity that could benefit from a £500 cash boost?
The South Wales Argus has teamed up with house builder Taylor Wimpey to offer worthy causes the chance to receive £500 in our Community Chest campaign.
We are inviting you, our readers, to nominate good causes in the Gwent area which you feel are most deserving of this cash award.
Whether it’s a local charity which relies on donations to carry out its work in the community, or a group or organisation which makes a real difference in your neighbourhood, we want to hear where you think the money would be best spent.
Kevin Ward, managing editor of the South Wales Argus, said: “We know there are many organisations in our area which do great work in the community, and what better way to say thank you than by putting them forward for this cash award.”
Sara Taylor, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey South Wales, which is currently building new homes at its Cwrt Yr Eglwys development in Caldicot, said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with the South Wales Argus for this special initiative and hope people will take the opportunity to nominate the unsung heroes in their community.”
Readers have until Sunday December 15 to put forward their nominations for the Community Chest. Our editorial team will then whittle down the nominations to produce a shortlist of the most deserving causes, before inviting readers to vote for their favourite.
Shortlisted nominations for the Community Chest will also have the added bonus of publicity in the South Wales Argus, helping them to raise their profile across our circulation area.
To nominate a good cause for the Community Chest, email newsdesk@southwalesargus.co.uk with ‘Community Chest nomination’ in the subject line, and include your name, telephone number, details of the organisation you are nominating and why you think it should receive the £500 award.
The deadline for nominations is December 15.
