Mike Holpin, of Market Street, Tredegar, acted as look-out during the raid in High Street, Nantyglo, London’s Appeal Court was told.

The house was ransacked with cupboards emptied and items scattered over the floor.

The couple who owned the house returned with their young child to find a scene of chaos, the court heard.

Holpin, 21, was caged for 28 months at Cardiff Crown Court in August after admitting burglary, but appeal judges cut it to 22 months after hearing he wasn’t the prime instigator..
