TWO Newport youngsters have picked up a film award for a three-minute black-and-white movie, shot using an action sports camera.
It is the third award that brothers William, 15, and Alexander Langley, 12, of Langstone, have picked up, after they won Best Trailer at the Zoom Young Film-makers Awards in February for their film Suspense, and best edited film with their piece Gingie’s Tale at last year’s Media 4 Schools competition.
This time the duo took home the trophy for the best overall film at the Media 4 Schools competition, for their silent picture The Cat in the Bar Con, recorded on a GoPro sports camera.
“It’s quite a complicated plot,” said William, who edited the film on his laptop and plays two characters in the film.
