A CWMBRAN choir representing Wales at the World Choir Games in Latvia next year is holding a festive fundraising extravaganza this weekend to reach the £18,000 target necessary to compete.
The Cwmbran Nidus Children’s Choir is no ordinary choir, having recorded with Bryn Terfel among others, and won Show Choir of the World 2013 at this year’s Llangollen International Eisteddfod.
To help raise money for the talented youngsters to travel to Riga, in Latvia, the group is performing at the Congress Theatre in Cwmbran on Sunday at 2pm.
More than £14,000 has been raised by the group over the past five years, but the final £4,000 needs to be raised this Christmas.
Nidus volunteer Heidi Nicholson said: “These children work incredibly hard to balance their charity and community work with their own performances, competitions and fundraising.”There will be Christmas carols, songs, drama sketches, and dances, catering for the whole family.
Tickets are £7 from the box office on 01633 868239. Concessions are £5.
