UPDATE: 4.26pm
According to Ben's wife Danielle, there has been a reported sighting of him near Cantref Primary school on Harold Road in Abergavenny, where he was reported to be heading towards the town centre.
A spokesman for Gwent Police said: “We’ve got several leads that we are actively following up at the moment.”
Danielle added she has been told the police are stopping the search of the River Usk and are focusing on Abergavenny as there have been so many "good" sightings there. The last sighting was in Abergavenny yesterday.
The sightings are yet to be confirmed by CCTV, but are being classed by police as "good" sightings.
UPDATE: 2.48pm
THE SEARCH for missing Newport man Ben Caplan was extended to Abergavenny today.
Danielle Caplan, Ben’s wife, has been in contact with police who have been searching the Abergavenny area today after a couple of reported sightings of the missing South Wales Argus worker. The police helicopter was used in the search.
Mrs Caplan said this afternoon: “We’re still just waiting - waiting for sightings to be verified and any more news.”
The police helicopter was also out searching the Caerleon area again at around 8.00 this morning.
