THE FAMILY of Newport dad and South Wales Argus worker Ben Caplan say that they have been "overwhelmed by the messages of support, love and affection" after he went missing and his body was recovered from the River Usk last Thursday.
They also said they wanted particularly to thank all those who volunteered their own time and everyone else who was involved in the searches, poster campaign and publicity efforts following Ben's disappearance.
Gwent Police said today that the body recovered from the River Usk at Caerleon had been formally identified as Ben Caplan.
An inquest into Mr Caplan’s death was opened and adjourned today.
Following a post mortem examination, a provisional cause of death has been given as consistent with drowning. Further tests are being undertaken.
