AN inquest into the death of a 39-year-old man found unconscious at a car park near Greenmeadow Community Farm in Cwmbran was opened and adjourned yesterday.
After a post-mortem examination into the death of Cwmbran man Scott James Stewart Jones, the cause is still unclear, a hearing in Newport was told.
Coroner’s officer David Arnold said: “At 7.49am on February 1, Gwent Police responded to a report of an unconscious male located in the open air car park of Greenmeadow Community Farm in Cwmbran.
“Prior to the arrival of an ambulance the attending officers administered first aid to the male.”
Mr Jones was taken to Newport’s Royal Gwent Hospital where he died later the same day.
A post-mortem examination by Dr Stephen Leadbeater at the University Hospital of Wales did not provide a conclusive answer to the cause of death.
Mr Jones’ body was released to his family for his funeral and the inquest was adjourned for eight weeks at Gwent Coroner’s Office for further toxicology and histology tests to be carried out.
