UPDATE: Both the police officers have been released from hospital.
A POLICE officer and a woman remain in a stable condition in hospital after one of yesterday's crashes on the A467 in Rogerstone.
The officer was injured when a patrol car was in a collision as it was responding to a previous crash on the same road.
Gwent Police are appealing for information following the two crashes yesterday on the A467.
Police were called at 12.15pm after a report of a two-vehicle crash on the A467 southbound just after the Rogerstone turning involving a black Fiat Punto and a Hyundai. One female driver inside the Punto sustained injuries and was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital and has since been released.
On the way to responding to this incident a Gwent Police vehicle, a BMW X5, was involved in a second crash with a another Fiat Punto on the southbound carriageway. The woman driver of the Punto remains in hospital in a stable condition. The two officers inside the police vehicle were also taken to hospital. One remains in hospital in a stable condition.
If anyone has any information about either of the collisions they are asked to call Gwent Police on 101 and quote log number 155 6/2/14.
