THERE are warnings from the Met Office for heavy rain in Gwent tonight and high winds tomorrow, although they are not as severe as for other parts of Wales.
A band of rain, heavy at times, accompanied by coastal gales will affect southwest England and Wales during Friday evening, moving quickly east across the UK early on Saturday. Gwent could see gusts of wind of up to 50-60 mph on Saturday.
The rain will clear the east coast on Saturday morning but will be followed by frequent heavy and squally showers and some bands of more persistent rain too.
The Yellow warnings for wind and rain have been given for Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen.
