A SMALL landslide in Llanhilleth closed off the road today as the Met office issues a yellow warning for rain across Gwent tomorrow.
A mound of earth and an old man hole cover had come down the banking onto Commercial Road, the B4471, on Sunday night. The landslide partially blocked the road but completely prohibited the driveway of a nearby house.
The owners of Belle Vue were in contact with the Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council and Welsh Water but were yet to determine when the driveway would be clear of the debris. The recent bad weather is thought to have contributed to the landslide which is also the location of sewage pipes.
The Met office has warned of further disruption due to flooding. Areas across Gwent including Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, and Torfaen are all affected with rain warnings issued until the end of week.
An amber warning of wind is in place for Gwent for Wednesday and Thursday.
