Monmouth resident, Peter Holmes, of Riverside Park, who is chairman of the Riverside Residents’ Association, said: “The Riverside Green is a lake and one of the mobile homes is surrounded by water but all the others are safe and raised above the ground.”
“The river is looking angry and there is a lot of debris that has come down and is blocking some of the arches.”
He said: “We were evacuated from our mobile homes about six or seven years ago but this seems worse.”
“We have not been told to evacuate but the Environment Agency is keeping us informed.”

Monmouth Comprehensive will be open for pupils in key stage 4 & 5 only tomorrow and closed to years seven, eight and nine. The school will be open for all pupils on Thursday.
All pupils living in the Wyesham area are to continue to go to Kymin View school for 8:30am to be transported into school.

The headteacher of Monmouth School said their 24 acres of sports pitches were under water and games have been cancelled but school remains opens normal.

The stretch of the B4229 is closed both ways due to flooding between Kerne Bridge and Goodrich.
Further along the B4229 at Goodrich is just passable due to flooding at the junction between the B4229 at B4234. The road is flooding close to the Wye Bridge not too far from the Inn On The Wye pub. The road is not closed, however passible with care.

Water levels are very high at the River Wye bridge in Monmouth.
Forge Road, Monmouth is blocked due to flooding and Birches Road, in Penallt is blocked by a fallen tree which has damaged a water main.

A FLOOD Warning remains for undefended areas of the River Wye at Monmouth today.
A statement from the Environment Agency said the level at Monmouth was 4.9 metres and steady, a peak level of 5.0 metres occurred at 12.15am today.
The rowing club underpass gates have been closed. The level at Grosmont was 1.2 metres and rising, a peak level of 3.7 metres occurred at 7.30am yesterday.
The Met office has warned of further disruption due to flooding. Areas across Gwent including Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, and Torfaen are all affected with rain warnings issued until the end of week.
An amber warning of wind is in place for Gwent for Wednesday and Thursday.
